Friends and family,

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of our beloved Lauren. After a courageous battle with lupus and a stroke, today we made a heart-wrenching decision that will forever alter the course of our lives. Lauren was hospitalized earlier this week due to a migraine, which rapidly escalated into a life-threatening condition, necessitating life-support. She has endured severe seizures and significant strokes resulting from multiple blood clots, causing extensive damage to 75% of her brain.

Consequently, her heart has also been affected, which would drastically impact her quality of life. The medical team has proposed a treatment plan involving a tracheotomy, feeding tube, and drainage tube on her brain. However, Lauren has consistently expressed her desire to forego life-sustaining interventions.

Those familiar with Lauren's effervescent personality, marked by her bright smile and laughter, understand that she would not want to continue living under such circumstances. On the forthcoming Tuesday, Lauren will be removed from the ventilator and provided comfort care until her eventual transition.

We have created this GoFundMe to assist with the costs associated with her memorial service and to support her family during this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated and will help us honor her legacy and the love she shared with all of us.
