We are raising money to help our little sister Jojo through a very difficult time.  Jojo is currently 5 months pregnant.  She has lost one of two twins and at this time was thankful that she still had one baby.   She was informed last month that she has what is called a partial molar pregnancy.  The baby that she is carrying  has been diagnosed with spinal bifida, a heart condition, brain damage and several other physical conditions.  The baby has been tested for triploidy which is a rare chromosomal abnormality where there is an extra set of chromosomes.  We are waiting to hear if this is part of the diagnosis.  Jojo's ovaries are extremely enlarged and are covered in cysts which if they are to burst will result in immediate surgery.  She has also been having episodes where her heart races and raised blood pressure and she cannot get it to come down on her own so she is then rushed to hospital .  The Doctors say this has to do with her thyroid and the longer she carries the baby the worse  it will get possibly resulting in pre-eclampsia and "thyroid storm".  Jojo has been told that the baby will not live whether she carries it full term or has it early.  Jo and Zachary moved to the states last summer and her medical coverage is "pending".    As we all know, medical procedures are extremely expensive there and even if her coverage goes through it will not likely cover all of it.  She has had prenatal checks which are 200 dollars each and ultrasounds and blood work which she has not disclosed the costs of to me.  She has also been seeing a specialist for this particular pregnancy and will obviously eventually have to have the baby early or if by chance she reaches full term.  She is  not supposed to be left alone which means that at some point her husband will have to stay home with her instead of working.  We would  like to relieve some of the financial stress that there is at this time and help to pay for some of these expenses.  Thank you so much for your support.
