In Madison Mitchell's senior capstone film, "Under Her Skin", we follow Naomi, a Black girl overwhelmed by Eurocentric beauty standards. In her quest to fit in, Naomi is pushed to the brink of insanity.

From a young age, Naomi was compelled to be someone she wasn't. Influenced and taunted by these standards, she felt pressure to carry herself in a way that aligned with Eurocentric societal beauty expectations. It isn’t until she enters high school that her self-identity crisis begins to intensify. As Naomi struggles to fit in, she progressively loses her grip on reality.

"Under Her Skin" is a psychological body horror film that delves into themes of colorism, discomfort, dysmorphia, and self-identity. This remarkable film is led by a passionate, female-focused team of filmmakers committed to creating thrilling and authentic narratives while amplifying women's voices behind the camera.
