My name is Dorothy Nedra Holford, AKA Sistah Nedra.

A couple of years ago I had the honor and pleasure of taking “The Lucid Path” class. My vision at that time was to start a community farm that would house artisans. I wanted to create a community where people could earn a living doing what they were passionate about. I envisioned a community where we take care of each other and those who could no longer work would have a safe place with an extended family to love them.

As the class ended life showed up LOL!

I wound up moving to a farming community in Manteca, California, while my family stayed back in San Jose. Practicing the tools I learned, about 3-4 months ago we decided to start looking into purchasing land. Then life showed up again, and my family had to abruptly move everyone from our home in San Jose. We only had one month to clear the place out and after all is said and done it cost us over $7000. We could not afford a moving service so the four of us moved everything.

The strain of the move triggered a lump in my right breast. At first it was just annoying and then the lump became really hard and started to hurt. On April 28th, I finally went to Kaiser emergency room and after the exam I was advised that there was an 82% chance that I have some form of breast cancer. I am very fortunate today that I was able to acquire a team of doctors at the Stanford Women’s Cancer Center in Palo Alto, CA. Based on my interviews and their experience they believe that it is a benign form of cancer. On May 20th, I will go through another round of tests and be given a treatment plan a day or so after that.

I practice the traditional West African religion called IFA. I must fight this affliction from both the physical and the spiritual realm. I'm asking for your help with this. The abrupt move drained us financially. Because I am in pain, lethargic, and just not feeling good most days I had to quit school. It hurts because not only was it my extra income, I'm also only a couple of classes away from finally receiving my bachelor’s degree.

I’ve set up a Go Fund Me to help me to both perform the spiritual rituals that I desperately need right now, and to help me with gas/hotel/food as Palo Alto is 100 miles from where I currently live. I also need to bring someone in to help with housekeeping for a couple of months and will need to order my groceries because my doctors want me off of my feet and never lifting anything.
