Hi, my name is Jaclyn Bailey. Right before the housing boom, we bought a house for our family. This came after years of struggling and working hard to get on our feet. Then COVID happened. I lost my job shortly after we bought our home and struggled to find a new one that would be something I could physically do. We worked with our mortgage company to not lose our home, utilizing a program called COVID Forbearance. We were told the whole way through that we would be able to put the money on the end of our loan and everything would be fine. I finally found not just a good job, but the perfect job and we were ready start digging ourselves out of the massive hole we had gotten into. We communicated with the mortgage company that we were ready to work our way out of forbearance and return to paying our mortgage, and that we wanted to utilize the program that would tack the money owed to the end of our mortgage.

That was when we received devastating news. The program that would allow us to move the payments had ended before we were ready, and they hadn't told us. They put our home in foreclosure as we had no way to pay. We have been working hard for months trying to find a solution, but we are coming to the end of our time to pay or lose our home.

We are desperate. Every penny, every dollar contributed will help our family not end up another COVID statistic of loss. We finally have a light at the end of the struggle tunnel and this is the last hurdle in our path to a good life for ourselves and our children.
