Hi my names Lucy Connolly-Brame and on the 26th October 2025 I was competing in the Adobe women’s FA cup against Oxford United where I suffered an injury to the knee. I heard and felt a pop and instantly fell to the ground.
After getting an MRI scan the results came back and unfortunately it was not good news. I completely ruptured my ACL ( Anterior cruciate ligament ) and also damaged my MCL ( Medial collateral ligament ) and LCL ( Lateral collateral Ligament ) and partially damaged my meniscus.
I’ve never had an injury this severe before and honestly I am heartbroken that my season has come to an end so soon. This injury will set me back as I can no longer participate in football or work. My life has been put on hold until I can get surgery.
Unfortunately I do not have the funds and resources to go privately for my surgery and rehab. The waiting list for the NHS is around a year and would set me back massively from getting back to playing the game I love.
I have been told that the cost of the surgery will be around £12,000. Therefore I am asking for any donations, small or large to help me get back to playing football again. I would really appreciate the support if possible:)
Thankyou for taking the time to read
