Save VR Therapies

On Christmas Day, whilst closed for the festive break they were broken into! All of their VR equipment was stolen. Without this equipment, they are unable to provide community and outreach work, which impacts our local communities and families. They are an amazing social enterprise dedicated to helping people and it's now time for us to help them.

Whilst they do have insurance, it only covers a small amount of the VR headsets; it does not cover the accessibility aids and specialist equipment, damage to the building and all the doors destroyed, or the financial loss they now suffer through having to cancel all of the sessions within the community as well as special schools, day centres and care homes. At the same time, they must still pay rent and utilities to keep the centre open. This is just the impact on them - but what about our community?

Their sole purpose is to serve our community and support numerous individuals such as the elderly, disabled, children with SEND, people with mental health problems and really - the wellbeing of all - both locally and nationally. They work with everyone from children with autism to the elderly with Alzheimer’s.

Their work and impact is amazing. They take...

  • children undergoing chemotherapy flying through space
  • those who can't walk swimming with dolphins
  • people with dementia down memory lane
  • help tick off bucket lists for those running out of time

They support people suffering chronic pain following car accidents and gamify therapy to support teenagers develop coping skills for anxiety. They help so many people.

With children now returning to school, there are many children now at home unable to attend mainstream schools, some are too poorly and some are on 18-month waiting lists for mental health support. Until now they've been able to access support at VR Therapies without waiting lists and when they need it most.

They have been a lifeline for these families.

All of this has now stopped, due to the selfish behaviour of just one person. He even broke into and stole from the Effie-Rae activity room, which was named after a local girl with special needs who regularly benefits from the service.

Rebecca and the team at VR Therapies desperately need your support right now.

Any amount will make a big difference, so let's help them as they've helped us.

Thank you.
