In 2014 our life turned upside down. My husband had been laid off for over a year, but thankfully was able to get a few small jobs to help keep us going a little. He put out numerous resumes, with no luck. In July, unemployment ran out and our savings was gone! In August our prayers were answered by God, my husband received a job offer for a full time job at Grote. Everything seemed to be getting better.
Except 3 months later, in November of 2014, that’s when I noticed I needed to see a doctor immediately! After countless test, biopsies, and CT Scans, I received the official news on December 1, 2014….”You have Inflammatory Breast Cancer." Inflammatory Breast Cancer is a rare type of breast cancer that develops rapidly, making the affected breast red, swollen and tender. I was diagnosed at stage 3, which is the earliest Inflammatory Breast Cancer can be diagnosed.
I just finished 6 months of chemo and during the chemo, I also developed Diabetes. Soon, I will be undergoing a Double Mastectomy and then Radiation. A friend asked me recently if I’m scared. I would be lying if I didn’t say "Yes!" I’m scared I won’t see my babies grow up to be adults. I have a daughter, Isabella she is 8 now and my son, Coltin, who is 5. I’m scared I won’t get to grow old with my loving husband. I pray all the time and I know God will get me through this.
So, now I am asking all my family and friends on Facebook to please
1. Pray for me and my family.
2. Please donate what you can.
3. Please share this over and over with your family and friends and ask them to do the same.
We are in desperate need for help. Yes, we have medical insurance, but there is A LOT that our insurance doesn’t pay. The 20K is to go to unpaid medical bills. God Bless You All
