Josh's Legacy:Taking Care of Ashley

Donation protected

Ashley & Josh's friends, family, and coworkers really want to take as much stress as possible off of Ashley during this time.  I will share some of their story for those of you who do not know.  Ashley and Josh dated for 9 years and Josh proposed in November of 2013.   In March of 2014, Josh was diagnosed with leukemia.  He went through chemo, fought hard, and went into remission just in time for the wedding in December.  It was the prettiest wedding I have ever been to!  Things were finally starting to get back to normal. They even started building their dream house!!    Ashley teaches third grade and her students returned to school January 6, 2015 from Christmas break.  She was called in the office that morning  and was given the news that one of her students had been brutally murdered the night before.  This was hard on her and all of her students, but she was super strong and was able to hold it together for the sake of all of her students.  Then, within a month from this happening, they get the news that Josh had relapsed.  In March, Ashley ended up having to take a leave of absence from work to move to Atlanta to be with Josh at Emory.  Keep in mind that they have the house they were living in, the house they were building, and now an apartment in Atlanta.  I know....crazy.  So, they are living in Atlanta and Josh is doing treatments, having some good and bad days.  THEN...yes...another THEN, in April, Ashley's father passes away.  What else could she possibly go through right?  Well unfortunately, this wasn't all.  May arrives and they find out that Josh's treatments were not working and Emory said we need to explore other options and referred them to MD Anderson in Houston, TX.  On May 16, they flew to Texas and began discussing other options for Josh.  God had other plans.  Josh went to be with Jesus Tuesday, May 26.   Josh & Ashley have some wonderful friends who have worked together to get her newly built house completed and they even stocked her fridge and pantry!!  The only thing she really needs now is to have her yard landscaped.  I know this doesn't seem like a big deal, and maybe even something that could wait, but we want Ashley to be able to move into her new house and not worry about anything.  She deserves to be able to just go home, grieve, and relax.  Please help us, help Ashley!!!  She is the strongest person that I know!!!!
