Olivia’s story

Donation protected
On the 13th of February I gave birth to my beautiful daughter Olivia Grace Shouler at 22 weeks. My daughter was completely healthy on all scans I even had a scan a couple of days before and no one picked anything up, I felt completely ignored by Jessops Sheffield hospital after ringing triage multiple times about my symptoms but was told it’s apart of pregnancy and that my symptoms are normal.. as a first time mum I got told it’s just “anxiety” and everything’s fine. On the 12th of February I went into triage at 8:30pm with severe belly pains and was left in painful labour for 5 hours I was even getting my sister to keep asking when I’ll be seen due to how much pain I was in, a nurse gave me morphine and told me to wait until it kicks in which it didn’t after screaming on all fours begging to seen my cervix was checked and I got the horrible news that my baby girl won’t be surviving and that I was in labour. 1 minute after I was rushed into a labour ward with 5 midwife’s surrounding me this was a massive shock as the nurses were actually going to send me back home before checking my cervix !

I finally got rushed into a labour ward with only gas and air and told my baby won’t survive more then a couple of minutes and that’s it’s too late to save her and finally at 1:25am she was born, surviving for only 10 mins. Even after all the stress I still wasn’t told how my baby died until the 14th of February by the medical examiner and not even by the nurses. I would like to raise some money towards my baby girls funeral and donate some memory boxes and teddies for parents who have unfortunately been through the same as me. My daughter could have still been alive today if I was just listened to properly but I want Olivia’s story to raise awareness I don’t want this story to scare first time parents but if you feel like you’re not being heard please speak up until you do and do not let anyone tell you it’s anxiety especially if you are a first time mummy like I was. I hope this story can bring some comfort to other parents who have gone through the same. Any donations would be greatly appreciated as I don’t want Olivia’s story not to heard. She deserves the best send off
