We are Mermaids for Morgan, an organization seeking non-profit status, in Jacksonville, Florida. In the wake of a tragic car accident that claimed the life of our beloved daughter, Morgan Leigh Delks, on October 23, 2015, and struggling to find a purpose for the love we can no longer give, Mermaids for Morgan gave us an outlet for healing.
For our first fundraising effort, we are raising money to benefit the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation that provides lifesaving equipment to first responders across the country; the same equipment that could save another life, like Morgan’s. Our campaign will run through February 29, 2016.
Help us honor Morgan’s vivacious and giving life by supporting our inaugural effort, in her memory. We are thankful for any donation you can give, and every donation will help provide equipment to our first responders through Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. The next life saved could be your loved one.
We have also recruited a small army of people to run with us in the half marathon in the 26.2 with Donna marathon on February 14, 2016, a race with proceeds funding ground breaking breast cancer research, and women living with breast cancer. The Mermaids for Morgan team will run their hearts out to raise dollars for Morgan’s cause through your donations
Morgan Delks volunteered her time and effort, which is the most precious gift she could give. Though Morgan can no longer give, we will, in her stead. We will give of our time, our resources, and our love. It is with love and purpose we will remember Morgan and pledge to keep her alive in spirit and in all of our hearts.
Her song will continue to be sung as long as we keep singing it.
While we are still developing our organization, our end-goal is to establish a legacy fund dedicated to providing scholarships to aspiring Dental Hygienists. Morgan’s memory will live on through our efforts and your generous contributions.
