2 years ago we adopted Phinny from Best Friends Animal Society where he had lived for several years. When Phinny was younger, he had suffered a major blow to the head, likely from a metal bat or pipe, and had lived on the streets long enough that his broken bones had fused his jaw shut.
Phinny has neurological damage from his prior abuse and is a pitty so he has the desperate desire to chew chew chew. This past week he underwent major surgery to remove an obstruction from his stomach and intestines: part of one of his toys! Heis home recovering now and has his loveable spark back, even having enough energy to chew up 2 of his catheters and a cone while playing the perfect patient at the vet.
Through all of his trials, Phinny is one of the most loveable dogs ever. He has many Phinny Phans and his vet team raves about him. He truly is a special guy.
The whole procedure set us back $7500 and with the COVID-19 happenings, we were struggling financially before all of this happened but couldn’t bear to lose this pup. If you are able to donate, we really appreciate it. We also understand times are tough and finances are tight so if you can share our story, we could use all the help we can get.
