Adrian's flood relief fund.

On May 26, 2015 at roughly 2:20am, I awoke to a loud screech. When I sat up to investigate in the dark, my feet hit the floor to stand, and I was ankle deep in water. The screech was the subwoofer for my speakers connected to my computer going haywire, because the powerstrip it was plugged into was under water. My first instinct, was to start saving what I can by putting them in high places. It was when water came shooting out of the power outlets, that were still live, that I knew my time was up. I had to bail. The water went from ankle deep to a bit under my waste in only 10 minutes. So, I grabbed my backpack that luckily has traveling essentials in it, because I do a bit of traveling for work here and there, my phone, wallet, keys, and work tablet, and made my way to my only escape, my front window. My neighbor right across from me opened his window at the same time, and we were both being electrictued to hell, climbing out of the window, as there is an outlet right under the only safe window to escape from. as soon as we made our way out, neighbors from upstairs were treading the flood, trying to get the downstarts folk to safety. Jerry and I were the last two. We made it upstairs in one peice. Me only being awake for about 15 minutes at this point, Im still trying to wrap my head around the chaos I was beholding.

In the 9 months I've been in my apartment, I only met one neighbor. I was glad how nice all of them were, offering shelter, food, water, and clean, dry clothes. I ended up waiting out the whole thing on the balcony. I did decide to walk through the water to check on the status of my apt, and car a few times throughout the 10 hours or so I was on that balcony, taking whatever pictures I could for Insurance purposes. Once the water was below knee level, I decided It was safe enough to walk to an area of town I could be picked up by family at.

I honestly did not sweat my losses much, because I have renters insurance on my apartment, and full converage on my car. But the next day, to my dismay, I was told flood damage/natural disasters are not something covered by my renters insurance. So minus some electronics, I lost everything. Furniture, clothes, work equipment, tools, countless electronics, guitars, pictures, important documents, appliances, ect. To make matters worse, my car is worth less than I owe, and I do not have gap insurance, which I didnt even know existed until this happened. So I will still owe the bank some money for a vehicle that is destroyed.

I can't be more grateful for all the family and friends that gave me the ole "Need a place to stay, just let me know", and for my health. Im starting this go fund me to start getting my life back in order, and start to replace the things that mother nature stole from me with little to no warning. I'm more than aware every one has there own problems, not to mention others got it worse than me, but anything helps. Thank you for anything youre able to give. I'll will be eternally grateful.

Below are some of the many photos I took of the night:
