Help Angie Get Back On Her Feet
Donation protected
If you have had the opportunity to meet, befriend, or spend any time with Angie, you know that she is a fighter. She is always able to pick herself up by her bootstraps and make do with the hand that she’s dealt. While 2020 was a challenging year for many, it hit Angie especially hard. In June, Angie’s Mother passed away from medical complications after fighting for her life in the ICU for over 70 days. In September, Angie herself underwent an unexpected operation, and in December was furloughed from one of her main income sources due to COVID-19. As Angie has been working through her grief and physically recovering, she has stayed positive knowing that 2021 would hopefully bring new opportunities for her to look forward to in the new year.
On Monday, January 18th 2021, Santa Rosa had a surge in high winds that lasted throughout the night. When the winds picked up (to over 30 mph), Angie thought it was best to vacate her residence and head to her family home for the evening to ensure she was out of the wind. On Tuesday morning, Angie woke up to a phone call from one of her co-workers letting her know that the wind had completely lifted the roof off of her residence, causing the structure to collapse in on itself.
While we are grateful that Angie is safe and unharmed, most of Angie’s furniture and personal effects have been damaged or are now unusable. Many of the items in her residence included items that were gifted to her from her late mother and other family members, that are invaluable and will be extremely difficult to replace. Because her current residence structure no longer is a shelter, Angie’s personal effects are packed into storage containers until she can find a new place to live. She is actively trying to relocate to somewhere secure ASAP.
Any donations that are made through this Go-Fund-Me will be used to support Angie relocating including: 1-2 months of rent, a security deposit for a new housing, and replacing as many items that were damaged as possible. Angie is in high spirits, and is thankful for any donations that can be made at this time!
