Help Jacob Jenkins, Emily Shuler and their Family

Donation protected
On Saturday afternoon Jacob & our oldest daughter, Malayah, along with family friends went to the ATV park in Tilton for some fun. That fun was cut short when Jacob was involved in an accident. Thank God he was surrounded by friends who jumped into action quickly calling EMS and helping to relieve his anxieties. Thankfully Malayah did not witness the accident happen, however, she did see medical personnel arrive and her daddy didn't come back with them from Tilton.

Once at the hospital we were told that Jacob had broken his neck, vertebrae C4 & C5. Aside from some bruising to his spinal cord, it looked pretty good. He was not able to move his right leg and while he could move his arms, he had no movement in either hand and would need surgery.

Sunday evening he underwent the surgery they earlier discussed. They added screws from vertebrae C3-C6 and some bone graph to help fuse the bones together. The neurologist said it went well and that as far as the partial paralysis goes, it could take 6 months to a year for us to know if he will regain that movement and to what extent. He has a long road to recovery and a lot of rehab ahead. And our hopes and prayers are that he will regain the movement in his leg and hands.

Anyone who knows Jacob knows how strong and tough he is. He will no doubt do anything he can to work through this and he has a lot of wonderful people on his side to help him through.

Jacob is the sole provider for our family. He works very hard day in and day out so I am able to stay home and raise our babies in this stage of life. He will be out of work for many months so all of the money donated will help offset all of our living and medical expense incurred during his recovery. A huge thank you to everyone near and far who has reached out and has been praying for Jacob and our family. We ask for your continued prayers on a full speedy recovery.

Much love to you & a huge thank you!

Emily
