In April of 2009, my friends' lives changed in the blink of an eye. Greg came home from work and had a grand mal seizure. The diagnosis, brain cancer, an astro cytoma stage 4. Devastating!
As you can imagine, life has drastically changed for this amazing family. After 2 surgeries and 18 months of treatment, Greg's scans have remained clean. However, he still requires quartely follow-ups regarding his brain cancer and treatment, which includes ongoing physical therapy to address the chronic atrophy and seizures. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover all of these expenses.
Prior to his brain cancer, Greg supplemented his teacher salary by reffing basketball and running a lawn care business, however complications from Greg's surgery have made it so that he is unable to do either one of the two extra jobs. This has resulted in a dramatic decrease in their household income.
The Davis' are a strong and loving Christian family. They live a simple life, and make a point of giving back to their community. They have continued to have a positive attitude, never complaining about their situation.
They have remained strong and have persevered, but I would like to see them be able to relax a little.
Let's support them, so they can focus on their family and not have to continue to stress about their finances.
