Our beloved family dog Daisy, was tragically hit by a car early Friday morning, August 29th, 2025. The kids and I were absolutely devastated as we rushed her to the Vet Hospital, in hopes that they could help her. Sadly, the prognosis was grim. Her spleen had been absolutely "shredded," and her leg broken severely. She was bleeding out, and only an emergency surgery could save her life. Being a single mom, we live paycheck to paycheck, like most of us do, my credit maxed out as well. Currently working full-time and going to school online, as a mother, I am doing everything I can to get us into a better spot financially. We're just not there yet. So I faced the decision that no pet owner ever wants to have to face. I could not afford to save our dog. I was going to have to say goodbye to the sweetest pup I've ever known, and there was no time to get the kids there to say their goodbyes, either. Just then, an angel came into our lives and gave us a miracle. A local donor to the animal hospital had heard about our situation and graciously offered to cover the surgery she needed to live. Overwhelmed with emotions, I couldn't believe it! Thanks to this amazing human being, our Daisy had a chance. The weekend that followed was a stressful one. With lung contusions and a broken leg, her recovery was far from over, but the light in her eyes and the wag of her tail when I brought her home after surgery told me she was happy to be home with her family, and she was going to be okay, and thankfully, she is. Now, she is up and hobbling around the house more and more every day, on her very lucky 3 legs! The problem is now fixing her leg or amputating it. It is not something that will heal on its own, unfortunately, and is something that needs to be dealt with sooner rather than later to give her a good quality of life. So I am praying for another miracle. Praying that good people out there who love their pets as much as we do will consider contributing a few dollars to help us reach our goal for Daisy. My kids and I would be eternally grateful, as will Daisy, if you could find it in your heart. If you can't afford to, we completely understand, but if you could share Daisy's story, that would be enough. Thank you, and God Bless.
