As I ring in the New Year, I look forward to the new beginnings, fresh starts, and reaffirmations 2016 holds. In following the tradition of making resolutions, one of my resolutions is to express love to others by being compassionate, by serving, and by helping. I began actively seeking ways to put this mission into practice a couple of weeks ago, and I found a great fit! I am partnering with Shaping Women, Inc. to raise money for the medical, insurance, and housing needs of Kim Buck. Many of you know that Kim has been fighting stage IV colon cancer for over 5 years. Over the past 5 years, she tolerated chemo fairly well and was able to continue practicing psychology. Recently, however, as a result of changes to her treatment plan, she had to give up her psychology career. As you can imagine, even a healthy person would find it difficult to pay for medical care and living expenses when the main source of income is gone.
Kim is one of the most generous, caring, giving people I know. She has dedicated her professional life to helping others overcome depression, anxiety, and recover from traumatic brain injuries. In her personal life, she uses her amazing culinary skills to feed elderly shut-ins. Kim epitomizes the vision of Shaping Women, Inc., which is why this partnership is such a good fit! Kim overcame many obstacles of her youth to become a stellar example of a kind, giving, generous, and caring professional woman. Please join me and Shaping Women, Inc. in making a difference by raising money to help Kim with her expenses. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go directly to Kim.
