Support Jacob's Road to Recovery

Update 7/10: We found out that Jake has to have ANOTHER surgery on his foot. He has another bone that has to be reset. Hopefully it's not a long procedure, but that’s up in the air! All prayers welcome. Thank you

UPDATE 6/28: Jake was released from the hospital on Monday. He went back to the doctor yesterday for them to take the wound vac off his heel and stitch him up. They said it was heeling enough that he didn’t need the wound vac anymore so thank goodness! He goes back next week for another check up. He is still in a soft cast for now and has to take shots so he doesn’t get blood clots. Still a long road ahead of him but we’re thankful for where he’s at!

My brother Jacob was in a very bad motorcycle accident on June 19. He dislocated his shoulder and big toe, broke his left tibia, and completely crushed his foot, ankle, and heel. He also sliced his heel almost clean off. His motorcycle is totaled. He had surgery on 6/20 to set his leg and basically a full reconstructive done for his foot. The surgery lasted 7 hours. He currently has a wound vac on his heel to promote healing for the huge cut. He has a long road of recovery ahead of him.

I started this to help him with medical bills, to include the ambulance ride from Lincoln County to Charlotte, the ED stay, his surgery, meds, the rest of his hospital stay and future physical therapy he will need to be able to walk again. He will be out of work for some months, and the doctor said he won’t even be able to put weight on his leg for a 3-month minimum. Thank you so much everyone for all of your thoughts and prayers. This could have been so much worse and we’re so thankful to still have him with us. Anything will help and we’re so blessed to have our village!
