This ‘Go Fund Me’ is in support of
Sabum Niem Mattie’s Recovery
As many of you are now aware, during the month of March Sabum Niem Mattie suffered a gastrointestinal condition that caused him to go to the hospital, where he was admitted for 2 weeks. After receiving a blood transfusion, multiple tests and intensive care he was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer known as Appendiceal. This disease affects an estimated 600 to 1,000 Americans each year.
He is currently going through chemo treatments to shrink the tumor wrapped around his intestines, with the hope to remove it entirely. He was just hospitalized again a week ago but is currently resting at home.
Despite all of this, Sabum Niem Mattie is in good spirits and ready to fight this thing. He is handling everything with a smile. As his condition is incredibly severe and was entirely unexpected, he has been unable to work, and is living with his aunt while undergoing treatment. His aunt and family have been taking incredible care of him but as you can imagine, this has created a financial burden.
There is no obligation to help but many families have asked what they can do, and we thought this would be the best course of action.
The proceeds of this fundraiser will be used to help cover Sabum Niem Mattie’s expenses while undergoing treatment and until he gets back on his feet. The fund would pay for the repair of a car that belongs to his aunt but is currently not road worthy and for the insurance. This would create the opportunity for Sabum Niem Mattie to get around and drive to his appointments. We may not be able to cure cancer, but we can make it easier for Sabum Niem Mattie to get around, money to assist with his cell phone bill and expenses for treatment and doctor’s visits.
We ask for your support, your kindness and compassion to help Sabum Niem Mattie get back on track and treated. Truly, anything helps. If you’re unable to contribute monetarily, please send Sabum Niem Mattie your love.
Much gratitude in advance,
from everyone at Hiawatha’s Martial Arts.
