Vourloumis Funeral Costs and Family Support

Donation protected
Dionisios Vourloumis was a friend and mentor to many.   Dionisios passed away suddenly in his home in Greece, on Saturday, March 21, 2020.  I first met Dionisios in San Diego, CA, years ago when he joined the lab of Prof. Nicolaou as a postdoctoral researcher at Scripps, La Jolla.  I recently was fortunate to work with him again when he joined the lab of Prof. Nicolaou as a visiting research scientist at Rice University, Houston.   Dionosios spent months away from his family, who were in Greece, in order to advance research and  to take care of his family.  Dionisios loved his family--I have fond memories of him and our philosophical discussions; I am sure many of you can relate.  I am also fondly reminded of our discussions about his shopping trips in the US for his family in Greece.   He would always come to the US with a shopping list from his family and he could not wait to return to his family with his purchases to see the smiles on their faces.

We invite you to celebrate Dionisios' life through a donation to his family during this difficult time.

Thank you!
