This fundraiser is for the campaign to elect Preston Nelson as a Representative in the United States Congress for the 8th district in Illinois.

Preston Nelson is a Libertarian, whose only competition is Democratic incumbent Raja Krishnamoorthi. Libertarians are usually the "third party," but not here! We are the only alternative. This gives us special opportunity to tell the public what we are really about: common sense representation for every person.

Nelson's primary initiative is to Make America Healthy Again.

Most people don't realize this, but the Federal Government spends over $100,000,000,000 (one hundred billion dollars) every year, to subsidize mostly unhealthy food. Whether it's bio-engineered corn made devoid of nutrients for mass consumption and high fructose corn syrup, or even plain old white sugar, BILLIONS of dollars are being spent to subsidize this. Factory farms pumping caged chickens full of hormones and antibiotics are practically sponsored by your government. Smaller farms then cannot compete with the big subsidized businesses, and the result has become a very unhealthy America. This cannot continue, especially now in the time of COVID19. The only way to defeat viruses is with a healthy immune system. Unfortunately, most people's immune systems are lowered by bad diet. It's time for the government to stop paying for junk food. If people could keep more of their own money, then we would have more to spend on healthy food. If the government were not picking winners and losers in the food business, then healthy, local, fresh, natural food would be much more common. Getting your groceries at the Farmers' market might be the norm instead of the exception!

America spends over $4 trillion annually for healthcare. Most Americans today suffer from at least 1 preventable disease.

Imagine if most Americans did not suffer from disease. What if we could collectively safe just $2 trillion a year. The lowered demand would lower healthcare costs!

Making America Healthy Again will save both lives and dollars, and maybe even our freedom.

I also want to end the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen. George Bush, and  Barack Obama started these wars over lies, and they should be made to answer for what they have done to the world. I cannot single-handedly make the Bushes, Obamas, and Bidens answer for their bad actions in the Middle-East, but I can and will stand in Washington repeating "Bring them home."

Even as we are in the midst of a financial crisis, contractors in the Military Industrial Complex are making record profits, and they are spending record amounts of money to reelect people to Congress who will do their biding.

I will not be a tool of the military industrial complex.
I will not be a tool of the pharmaceutical industrial complex.
I will not be a tool of the insurance and banking complex.

But have you seen my opponent's fundraising, and exactly who his donors are? You might be surprised, but I am not.

So many of our problems are rooted in the fact that we, the people, are not well represented in Washington, because so many of those smiling faces in Washington are sold out to big money. That is why we need your help.

Factory farms take precedent over small farms, so food becomes unhealthy.
Military contractors take precedent over infantrymen, so wars last forever.
Big banks take precedent over individuals saving for retirement, so inflation is pervasive.
Police Unions take precedent over innocent people, so bad cops roam free, people are denied justice, and community trust is lost.
Democrats and Republicans take precedent over normal people trying to be involved in the political process, so Independents, Libertarians, Greens, etc are all restricted from participation in most elections and they are barred from debates.

I could go on and on... The nation is ripe for change!
