VorTech Sea-to-Sky 3-Peaks Challenge

We want to take a few minutes to talk to you about Sarah Irvine and how, together, we might transform her life for the better.

Sarah Irvine is 46 years of age. She is married to Gareth, and they have two teenage daughters, Alice and Juliette. Sarah is a fun-loving, outdoors person who loves water sports, particularly sea swimming.

Tragically, Sarah’s life was turned upside down in 2019 when tests revealed that she had Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (PPMS), and she has been bravely fighting the disease ever since.

As you may know, Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a condition that affects the brain and spinal cord, causing a wide range of potential symptoms, including problems with vision, arm or leg movement, sensation or balance.

It's a lifelong condition that can cause serious and permanent disability. In Ireland, more than 9,000 people are living with MS and globally, the number runs into the hundreds of thousands. Currently, there is no cure for MS. There are drugs that can help slow the progression of the disease, but they can’t stop it.

However, there is hope. Stem cell therapy offers the possibility of stopping the disease in its tracks. The therapy is not suitable for all MS sufferers, but for a lucky few, it provides a shining ray of hope.

Sarah is one of the lucky few. After rigorous efforts to gain approval, Sarah has been accepted for stem cell therapy at London Bridge Hospital. In order to receive the necessary treatment, she is required to raise a significant sum of money which is not currently covered by any funding programs available in Ireland.

The team at VorTech want to help Sarah. VorTech is setting a very ambitious target of raising €60,000 for Sarah as part of her fundraising activity.

To do this, members of the VorTech team (and guests) have challenged themselves to a unique Irish Three Peaks Challenge. United by the spirit of World Water Day, the Three Peaks challenge will take place on World Water Day, March 22nd/23rd and will involve climbing three well-known Irish mountain peaks in 24 hours.

We are calling to action all our family members, friends, colleagues and business partners to help make this event a success and allow Sarah to transform her life by stopping this horrible disease in its tracks!

So, how can you help?

1) Spread the word wide and far.

2) Pray for a sunny day on March 22nd.

3) MOST IMPORTANTLY, Please donate. No donation is too small.

As we roll towards March 22, watch for updates on the Three Peaks Challenge.

On behalf of the team at VorTech, I would like to thank you in advance for your support. Together, we can help make Sarah’s dream a reality!
