Hi My name is Vornchar, I'm the older brother of Vorntzaye Christian Lee. On behalf of the Saelee's we would like you let you know that we lost a precious person in our family on 09/27/2021 at 5:00 PM.
To family and friends of Vornzaye [Christian] Lee, we understand that this sudden news and series of events that occurred to Christian has been very unexpected and uncalled for. Christian was 32 years young and lost his life too early. He was loving, outgoing, easy going, always laughing, and loved by many. He loved life and everything that it has to offer. He was motivated, loved his family and would've done anything for them.
On Saturday, September 11, 2021, was the last day we saw Vornzaye [Christian] Lee to ever return back home. Christian had been picked up from his residential home that Saturday evening to spend time with his friend in Berkeley, CA.
As the night was getting late, Christian and his friend were getting ready to return back to their homes. While Christian was waiting outside for his friend to bring the car around, Christian went missing.
The following Sunday morning (09/12/21), Christian still hasn’t returned home. Unable to contact and desperate to find Christian Lee, we gathered all close family and friends to search for him.
That Sunday, one of Christian’s best friend called multiple hospitals in the Bay Area. Near 8pm, Christian’s best friend learned that Vornzaye [Christian] Lee had been admitted to the hospital at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Berkeley, CA.
No one knows what happened to Christian in between the time he went missing. A passerby had found Christian’s body laying on the side of the street and called 911. This was how Christian wounded up in the ICU at the hospital.
The only thing the hospital could tell us at the time was that something happened. Unfortunately, his injuries resulted into Christian being put in the ICU. However, during the first week in the ICU, Chris was talking to my parents, even, asking for his cell phone and food. To this point, we thought there was no reason to be afraid. Chris is resilient and his heart is pure, I truly believed he was going to come back home. After a week went by, and with multiple sedations not sure why? He had an internal bleeding during his 2nd week to the point that he lost all his blood. The hospital needed to do an emergency blood transfusion. And also another surgery was completed to repair the tear in his stomach and we thought he was stable and would eventually come home. However, after that surgery, blood went to his brain. We were pressured by the hospital to pull life support from him, but we were unable to do so. As you can imagine the rollercoaster of emotions and feelings of abandonment from the hospital really created more stress, trauma, and distrust with the hospital staff. At one point, the doctor even asked for his organs while he is still on life support, my father said no and the doctor stormed out of the room with anger or annoyance. Chris was full of life, he wanted to live, we all wanted him to live. His heart stopped, and he fought back to the point where his heart came back to life. So as a family, we wanted to give him as much time as possible to continue fighting.
The day before his passing, the hospital staff notified us that we can come in at 7:00 pm on 09/27/2021 to see him while he is on life support. We were ready to go as a family and friends, we were going to bring his favorite dish VH NOODLE so he can smell his food, drums, whatever we can find and go there and root for him / Yell so he can hear that we want him back. However, at 5:00 pm 2 hours before 7, the hospital pulled the plug and he died by himself. My family is angry, stressed, and at a loss for words, because we were supposed to given at least until 7:00pm to see him and unfortunately we will never have that chance due to the hospital.
We have reasons to believe Christian may have encountered some altercation during the time he went missing. No one knows for sure what led to this tragedy. The impact that Christian had from such a severe “fall” to ending his life, we are all at a loss for words and only want answers to make some sense of what happened to our dear Vornzaye [Christian] Lee.
Christian will be dearly missed, never forgotten, and will always have a place in our hearts.
As his older brother, it breaks my heart that I'm creating a Gofundme for my little brother, at times, I wish there was a time machine that can go back So I can tell him I love him and that everything is going to be ok. All I can do now is give him the best burial that I can give him. He is also my Dad's best friend and I know I cannot fulfill his shoes for my dad and it breaks my heart seeing my dad the way he is. My mom has been crying for 2 weeks. I am at a lost for words and the only thing I could say is I'm numb.
Any contributions and donation is greatly appreciated. Any funds will be used for the funeral and anything that needs to be paid in reference to Chris. Please keep Christian’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We thank you all so much for your support.
