FROM SIM TO REALITY !

Ich bringe meine Motorportbegiesterung auf die reelle Rennstrecke.

Mein Name ist Xavi Wegehaupt, ich bin 15 Jahre alt, komme aus Berlin.

In der kommenden Saison starte ich beim NATC-Youngster Cup in einem BMW 318ti Cup!

MEINE GESCHICHTE

Meine Autobegeisterung begann sehr früh

... denn kaum konnte ich ein bisschen sprechen, gab es für mich viel zu berichten: Ich nannte die Automarken-Namen und ordnete sie den jeweiligen Firmen-Logos zu.

Ich liebte lange Autofahrten und spielte mit allen Arten von Autos: Matchbox, Lego, ferngesteuerte Autos...

... und eines Tages wurde ich infiziert - mit dem Motorsport-Virus

Das war 2022.

Wir waren auf der Autobahn unterwegs und auf dem Feld hinter der Leitplanke war eine Rallye! Es staubte wie verrückt und ich konnte kaum glauben, dass die Rallyeautos schneller fuhren als wir!

Da war mir klar: Ich werde Rennfahrer!

Schon beim Leihkartfahren zeigte sich mein Talent:

Auf jeder Strecke, selbst auf neuen, war ich von Anfang an schnell. Die Teams erkannten das sofort und bestärkten mich, meinen Weg weiterzugehen.

Ich konnte es kaum erwarten, endlich 15 zu werden, um in richtigen Rennwagen zu fahren.

Im Internet sah ich, dass erfolgreiche Motorsportler gern am SimRig trainieren, um Rennstrecken und Überholmöglichkeiten zu testen.

Für einige Fahrer war der Erfolg im SimRacing der Einstieg in den richtigen Motorsport!

Vielleicht auch meine Chance?

Ich räumte mein Zimmer frei, verkaufte den ganzen Kinderkram, wünschte mir Geld zum Geburtstag und zu Weihnachten und besaß bald einen Gaming-PC für SimRacing-Rennen.

Inzwischen habe ich ein vollständiges SimRig und fahre seit Ende 2023 semiprofessionell Rennen auf verschiedenen Internet-Plattformen.

Seit Anfang 2024 fahre ich für mein eigenes SimRacing-Team Vin Motorsport, welches ich gründete. Wir sind eine internationale Community mit 15 Fahrern im Hauptteam und ca. 40 Academy-Fahrern, die ich coache. Wir richten Langstrecken- und Sprintrennen aus, an denen auch externe Fahrer teilnehmen können. Dabei übernehme ich die Rennleitung.

Bei den iRacing-Special Events bin ich inzwischen offizieller Fahrer für das schwedische Team Arctic SimRacing.

Neben zahlreichen Einzelerfolgen, bin ich z.B. derzeit auf der Plattform Pitskill mit 30 000 aktiven Fahrern in den weltweiten Top 10 und führe die beiden Langstreckenserien an.

Jetzt geht ́s auf die reelle Rennstrecke

Ich konnte es schon zeigen: auch ich kann meine SimRacing-Erfahrungen gut auf die reelle Rennstrecke bringen .

So kenne ich die Ideallinien der Strecken, fahre sehr umsichtig, vermeide Kontakt zwischen den Rennwagen und weiß, an welchen Stellen ich meine Chancen nutzen kann.

Geld! Geld! Geld! & Talent

Oft hörte ich:

"Beim Motorsport muss man sehr viel Geld mitbringen und wenn Du Talent hast, brauchst du trotzdem viel Geld, um überhaupt an den Start gehen zu können."

Aber ich stelle mir lieber die Frage:

Jeder hat seinen eigenen Weg und ich stelle mir lieber die Frage:

Wie gut kann es werden?!

Mein Weg - Schritt für Schritt

Ich trainiere an der Kartschule Spreewaldring bei Oliver Rodig und David Böhrke.

Bei den beiden und Tassilo Budde machte ich im Spreewaldring Trainingscenter auch mein Schulpraktikum. Das war eine wirklich tolle Zeit, weil das Team mir viel zutraute und ich gleich richtig mitarbeiten durfte. Ich habe auf und neben der Strecke viel gelernt und bin meinen Zielen näher gekommen.

Im Juni wurde ich 15 Jahre alt und konnte den Rennlizenzkurs NAT. A bei Christopher Bartz in der Motorsportarena Oschersleben absolvieren - im altem BMW meines Vaters zwischen all den Rennwagen.

Jetzt habe ich die Chance, im richtigen Leben reelle Rennen in einem richtigen BMW 318ti Cup zu fahren.

Ich würde mich über jegliche Unterstützung freuen,

I am bringing my enthusiasm for motorsports to the real racetrack.

My name is Xavi Wegehaupt, I am 15 years old and I come from Berlin.

MY STORY

My enthusiasm for cars began very early on...

because as soon as I could speak a little, I had a lot to say: I named the car brands and matched them to their respective company logos.

I loved long car rides and played with all kinds of cars: Matchbox, Lego, remote-controlled cars......

and one day I was infected – with the motorsport virus.

That was in 2022.

We were driving on the highway and there was a rally in the field behind the guardrail! There was dust everywhere and I could hardly believe that the rally cars were going faster than us!

That's when I knew: I'm going to be a race car driver!

My talent was already evident when I was driving rental karts:

I was fast right from the start on every track, even new ones. The teams recognized this immediately and encouraged me to continue on my path.

I couldn't wait to finally turn 15 so I could drive real race cars.

I saw on the internet that successful motorsport athletes like to train on SimRig to test race tracks and overtaking opportunities.

For some drivers, success in SimRacing was their gateway into real motorsport!

Maybe this was my chance too?

I cleared out my room, sold all my childhood stuff, asked for money for my birthday and Christmas, and soon owned a gaming PC for SimRacing races.

I now have a complete SimRig and have been racing semi-professionally on various internet platforms since the end of 2023.

Since early 2024, I have been racing for my own SimRacing team, Vin Motorsport, which I founded. We are an international community with 15 drivers in the main team and about 40 academy drivers whom I coach. We organize endurance and sprint races in which external drivers can also participate. There I am responsible for race control.

At iRacing special events, I am now the official driver for the Swedish team Arctic SimRacing.

In addition to numerous individual successes, I am currently in the global top 10 on the Pitskill platform, which has 30,000 active drivers, and lead the championship in both endurance series.

Now it's time to hit the real race track

I've already proven that I can apply my sim racing experience to the real race track.

I know the ideal lines for the tracks, drive very cautiously, avoid contact between the race cars, and know where I can take advantage of opportunities.

My path – step by step

I train at the Spreewaldring karting school with Oliver Rodig and David Böhrke.

I also did my school internship at the Spreewaldring Training Center with the two of them and Tassilo Budde. It was a really great time because the team had a lot of faith in me and I was allowed to get involved right away. I learned a lot on and off the track and got closer to my goals.

In June, I turned 15 and was able to complete the NAT. A racing license course with Christopher Bartz at the Motorsportarena Oschersleben.

I have the chance to drive real races in a real BMW 318ti Cup in real life now.
