Volunteers-Hawaiian Monk Seals

My name is Jane and I am a volunteer with The Marine Mammal Center. With over 45 years of experience working with marine mammals, our efforts in Hawaiʻi are critical to saving this endangered species.

The horrific wildfires on Maui have impacted our volunteers, some of whom have lost their homes, jobs, family members, and friends this past week. These wonderful volunteers donate their time to support the conservation of Hawaiian monk seals around Maui, and are now having to rebuild their own lives. These volunteers have lost everything and are in desperate need of funds to get back necessities in their lives.

Your financial support with help our volunteers resettle their lives and their work with critically endangered Hawaiian monk seals can continue. We truly appreciate anything you can contribute to financially support these volunteers who are dedicated to preserving Maui nei.

Funds gathered through this GoFundMe site will go directly to those volunteers who have been impacted by the Maui wildfires. Funding will allow these volunteers to begin to rebuild their lives on Maui. As a community, it is our kuleana (responsibility) to care for others and to support their needs.
