My name is Grant Stevenson and I am 16 years old, sophomore at Lincoln High School in Stockton CA. My dream like many, is to play college football and I have worked truly my entire life to make that dream possible. I was born with a speech problem, and didn't like to talk much. I wanted to play football but the only way I could would be to play QB or LB because in both cases you have to talk and call plays. My parents didn't even care if I played ,as long as I had to talk. Like Superman and his cape when I put on my helmet my speech problem would go away, when I took it off, I would leave words out again. I spent 9 years going to speach therapy (until I was 12) so football as my Mom says gave me a voice, and i have known since I was 6, I was supposed to do this.
QB Coach, Nike Elite 11 (Guru) Jordan Palmer reached out to my Dad regarding attending his camp in Southern California. Its an opportunity of a lifetime to be around some of the best (20 HS Qbs only) competition in the country, as well as, a few top college Qbs. Competition at its finest. So here is my request. As my Dad says you have to earn everything nothing is just given. So heres the plan; Below are jobs, things you can choose from in my community that I will perform and post in my FB to honor any donations. You choose, I do, and earn the right to attend by giving back to my community. In the process it will allow me to help those who need help who would otherwise be unable.
Volunteer
1. Yard Work for the Elderly
2. Volunteer at a retirement facility (in any capacity)
3. Volunteer at Hospice
4. Volunteer At Mary Graham Hall ( orphanage)
5. Volunteer at the St Marys Dining Hall
6. Volunteer at the local Food Bank
7. Volunteer to help clean up Oak Grove Regional Park
8. Volunteer at the Womens Shelter
9. Volunteer at the YMCA
10. Volunteer at whatever the donor wishes me to do in the local area for their cause.
