Volunteer post-doc needs budget to cover expenses

Hi there! My name is Umut, and I'm incredibly passionate about conducting groundbreaking research on autonomous and networked drone swarms at San Diego State University. I've also delved into fascinating areas like blockchain and the Internet of Things. Currently, I'm a visiting researcher here, having completed my Ph.D. back in my home country, Turkey, with a modest scholarship.

I'm thrilled to share that I successfully defended my thesis and graduated this year—such an exciting milestone! However, my research journey in the United States is far from over. I've extended my stay for another year to further explore and contribute to this cutting-edge field. Sadly, without being a student anymore, I no longer have access to a scholarship.

As a part-time lecturer, I receive some support from the university, and I'm grateful for that. Yet, living costs in this part of the country are exorbitant. Additionally, the drones and other equipment we utilize in our lab are quite expensive, not to mention the inevitable accidents they encounter. Moreover, sharing the results of our research can be financially demanding, with numerous journals requiring hefty article processing charges and excessive page overage fees. Conference fees also add up quickly.
