Volunteer Mission in Tanzania. Supporting children
Donation protected
Hello everyone, My name is Sean. I am looking to raise funds in order to support children in the early years education sector in Tanzania. As a primary school teacher in training, Supporting children’s lives within regards to education is always at the forefront of my thinking. When offered the possibility by DCU, to travel to Tanzania and support children in the early years education sector, I applied immediately. I was delighted to hear that I was successful alongside 3 other college mates. Volunteering as part of this project would be a lifelong goal of mine. More significantly, your donations will have a considerable impact on the livelihood of young children in Tanzania. All money raised will be used to cover travel costs and to help equip the early years classrooms with crucial learning and teaching resources and materials, ultimately changing the day-to-day lives of teachers and children. I will be heading off in early July 2024. Volunteering will take place among numerous schools in the Morogoro region. Accompanying us will be 3 lecturers from DCU, all with a rich background in providing children in Tanzania with Valuable learning experiences. They have worked closely with teachers in Tanzania over the past 5 years, providing them with resources and valuable teaching methods, building new classrooms for children and ultimately providing more opportunities for less fortunate children to attend school. Classroom sizes of primary schools in Tanzania can range anywhere from 65-125 students, to 1 teacher. To give a little context, comparing that to your average class size in Ireland, we are currently at around 22 students to 1 teacher. As you can imagine, this can lead to a multitude of challenges for the teacher and children to face. However with your help, it’s our aim to make some positive change in the lives of these children, and provide them with rich, valuable learning experiences that will last them a lifetime. Your donation, no matter the size, will go a long way in supporting our volunteer mission and making a positive impact on the lives of children in Tanzania. All of your support is appreciated and won’t go unnoticed.
Once again,
Thank you for taking the time to read and supporting this worthy cause!
All the best,
Sean.
