Volcano eruption left me homeless
The eruption of Kilauea has left me homeless and with only my scooter and the few things I had in my backpack when the evacuation happened. I need help to get myself essentials and find a new place to live.
The first fissure erupted less than 100 yards from my place in Leilani. 30+ structures have burned since the eruption started on Thursday night May 3rd, and my place was clearly downhill and in the path of the lava flow (fissure 1 and 13 are right there, uphill from my place) I have not been able to go back to check on things since May 4th - I'm not sure what condition things are in now.
I have put a lot of work and dollars into my cabin there - I had just gotten it pretty nice, but I can not return to it now or for the foreseeable future. I put everything I had into that cabin and now it's lost for all practical purposes, I need help to find a new place to live. With so many people displaced by the eruption finding a new place to rent is looking harder than usual. Once I find a place to live I need to replace all the basics that make your place liveable...simple kitchen stuff, bed, clothes, etc. Lord knows I've stated over before - but this time I need help from my friends and family. I can't do this without it.
THANK YOU!
Steve
