On Friday April 9 2021 the volcano (La Soufrière) on the Caribbean island began erupting explosively. Over 16000 individuals had to evacuate their homes and seek refuge at emergency shelters in the safe zones of the island.
Displaced persons are being faced with so many challenges at the shelters primarily not having enough food and other supplies to get them through this period.
Due to heavy ash fall, the piles borne water has been turned off at the mains as it is now unsafe to consume, making drinking water one of the biggest needs at the shelters. Other items needed include (but are not limited to):
• Pampers
• Baby Wipes
• Baby Formula
• Children's Games
• Sanitary Napkins
• Feminine Wipes
• Toiletries
• Non perishable food items
• Clothing (Newborn to Age 10)
• Blankets
• Towels
• First Aid Kits
• Toilet Paper
• Masks
• Sanitizers
• Ventolin
• Portable Nebulizers • Cleaning supplies
Any assistance at this time would be beyond greatly appreciated as we stand with our brothers and sisters during this trying time.
