Voice Porter's Journey to the Light

Brian Duane Porter Hawkins, also lovingly known as A Free Voice, Voice Porter, Free or Voice passed away yesterday, August 25th, 2021.

Brian was a poet, artist, community leader, father, and friend. He saw the beauty in people and would always cultivate that beauty to its highest potential.

He touched countless lives and has had an undeniable impact on Birmingham, especially the art community.

He leaves behind his parents: Cassandra Miles and Duane Porter, siblings: Reginald, Romeo, and Tashima, his partner: Deidre Clark, and his sons Benyamin, Akili, and Noah.
