Help Robert Gran Rebuild After Tragic Fire
Donation protected
My name is Danielle, and my family and I have started this fundraiser for my brother, Robert. This is his story.
On February 14th, my brother lost everything in a tragic shop fire. Inside that shop was his whole life—his 5th wheel, motorcycle, tractor, tools, and countless irreplaceable items. It was more than a shop; it was his home, his hard work, and his future.
A Life of Hard Work and Sacrifice
My brother retired four years ago from Monroe Correctional Facility after 31 years of service. Through those years, he worked two jobs and endless overtime to provide for his family, all while helping anyone who needed it—never asking for anything in return.
But life hasn’t been easy. Before he retired, he lost his wife, and despite his own grief, he kept going, always putting others first. He was finally beginning a new chapter in Chattaroy, close to family—a place where he dreamed of having his daughters and grandchildren visit and stay. He purchased land and, with his own two hands, built a pole barn from the ground up, finishing it in November.
The Heartbreak of Loss
Like many on a fixed income, he made tough financial decisions, one of which was to forgo insurance on the shop to keep costs down. While this was a risk, no one deserves to lose everything. Now, he is left with nothing and must start from scratch.
How You Can Help
Our family is rallying together to support him, but we can’t do it alone. We are asking for your help—whether through a donation or simply sharing this fundraiser with your family and friends. Every dollar will go toward helping him rebuild and get back on his feet.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity during this incredibly difficult time.
Robert’s daughter Marisa shares this:
“My whole life, my dad has been my number one supporter. No matter where he was in the state, I could always count on him. Through some of the hardest times in my life, he was always there to take care of me. As a child, he worked tirelessly to ensure our family had a comfortable life and never went without.
Some of my favorite memories are of him waking us up on summer weekends and driving us to Chelan to spend the day swimming.
Seeing how hard he worked to achieve his dream of owning land and living a simple life inspired me to pursue my own goals, just like he did.
My dad has always been my hero. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. It breaks my heart to know that in just one day, everything he worked so hard for is gone. He is the greatest human being I know, and if we can help him rebuild and live out his years in peace, I would be forever grateful.”
