Help lay Corey Mitchell to rest
Hello everyone, my name is Jame Talbert and I am a long time friend of Corey Mitchell’s. On Oct. 1st deputies from the Coles County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of County Road 1200 N and County Road 300 E in reference to a fatal vehicle crash. Officials with the sheriff’s office indicated that a Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by 35-year-old Corey Mitchell of Mattoon, was traveling south on 300 E when an International semi-truck collided with the driver’s side of Mitchell’s vehicle at this intersection. In this incident, the driver of the semi truck was citied for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Corey, Amanda and her 5 year old daughter were on their way back from a fun filled day at the pumpkin patch.
Corey had just recently lost his mother and is extremely limited in family. His grandmother is on a very fixed income and has given us close friends permission to set this up in hopes to give Corey a proper burial and/or resting place. Corey was always the light in a room and always pushed through life, against all odds. We, as his friends, would love to bring him home and give him what he deserves. If you can spare anything we would greatly appreciate it, and I know Corey sure would. Any remaining funds will go to Amanda and her daughter, Kynzleigh.
