Lydia, my sweet baby sister, has had quite the medical set back recently. On July 12, Lydia and her boyfriend Joey were shopping when Lydia suddenly couldn’t feel or move her entire left side of her body. After 5 days in the hospital with no answers and no progress she was sent to a rehab facility for an unknown amount of time. Today she is doing better. While she still hasn’t gained the function back in her left arm/hand yet, she is able to stand, transfer, and walk with assistive devices and someone helping her along. Her speech and facial function is returning with speech therapy. She’s working as hard as she can with occupational and physical therapy and is gaining strength everyday. We know people have been asking how they can help and we thought maybe this would be the easiest way to contribute. She will need a lot of medical supplies when returning home and since we still don’t have a diagnosis there are possible unknown medical bills coming her way. Her boyfriend Joey has been by her side everyday and has been a tremendous support. Once she gets home if anyone is interested in bringing a meal by or supplying food that would be one less worry for them. Anything helps and you all have no idea how much she appreciates the warm wishes, flowers, and get well cards. We cannot thank everybody enough!
