Shoe that grows
Donation protected
Greetings team,
During our gifts given to the school children of the Philippines, we have met many children who have no shoes/sandals or who have been forced to cut their sandals as they out grow them. It is a reality of life for many individuals in developing nations that having a pair of shoes is a rarity. It is not uncommon for children to grow up in these areas without ever having had a pair of shoes. The quality of life is greatly improved when having quality shoes. Shoes help prevent the spread of parasitic diseases and infections that plague over 1.41 billion people worldwide, and they are a basic human necessity. It was a blessing that some of our co-workers had sent Perlie and myself information about a fantastic organization called Shoes That Grow who we’ve partnered with to create an exciting initiative.
Shoes That Grow is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 2007 based near the Portland area in Nampa Idaho. Their focus is to manufacture and distribute shoes to impoverished communities all over the world. Their patented shoe design is geared towards comfort and longevity in a light weight manner that can easily shipped. 50 pairs can be compressed and fit into a regular suitcase in under 50 pounds. They make 2 gender neutral sizes. Each size can in themselves be adjusted 5 different sizes. Small is generally suitable from kindergarten to 4th grade age while large from 5th to 9th grade. To western standards they last for at least 5 years, often much longer by other standards. They are made of simple materials in leather, compressed rubber and snaps. There are no mechanical parts to break and are easy to clean and use.

We are challenging our Chrome Data / AutoData brethren in all locations to help us meet our goal of 200 pairs of shoes at a wholesale price of $12 USD per pair. While any amount would be considered a success, we’d really appreciate your support in helping us meet our goal. Our plan is to have all shoes shipped to the Philippines for Christmas of this year where we will personally ensure fair distribution to the most neediest children. Considering manufacturing and shipping time, we need to complete our initiative by July 31st
