If you were to walk into the shelter that day, you would have seen just another scared dog in Kennel 17.
But if you looked closer, you’d have seen the story in her eyes.
We named her Bella, but her past is a mystery written in scars and fear. She was found trembling under a porch, emaciated, with a severe leg injury that had been left untreated for who knows how long. Every flinch when a hand moved too fast, every cower in the corner, spoke of a life without kindness.
Yet, beneath that fear, there is a gentle soul waiting to be found. The first time she tentatively licked a volunteer’s hand, it was a tiny act of incredible bravery. It was her way of saying, "I still want to trust."
We brought her to the vet, our hearts full of hope. The news was both a relief and a devastation. Her spirit can heal, but her body needs help. The old fracture in her leg never set properly. Without surgery, she will live in constant pain, and likely never run or play without a limp.
But with surgery—a specialized procedure performed by a wonderful orthopedic vet—Bella can have the future she deserves. She can know what it’s like to chase a ball without hurting. To go for a long walk and then curl up on a soft bed, pain-free, in a home of her own.
This is where her story hinges, and where you can become a part of it.
The cost for Bella's surgery, rehabilitation, and care is beyond what our small rescue can handle. We are run by volunteers who donate their time because we believe every Bella deserves a chance. We’ve already said "yes" to saving her. Now, we need your help to finish what we started.
Your donation isn't just paying a bill. It is:
· The anesthesia that allows her to sleep pain-free through the operation.
· The skilled hands of the surgeon who will mend her broken leg.
· The weeks of physical therapy that will teach her how to run again.
· The promise of a forever home, where she will finally know what it means to be safe and loved.
We have seen the dog she is meant to be: the gentle nuzzle, the tentative tail wag, the hope flickering in her beautiful eyes. We cannot turn away now. We made her a promise.
Please, help us keep that promise. Help us give Bella the second chance that every faithful heart deserves.
Any amount you can give will change her world. Thank you for caring enough to make a difference.
With gratitude,
