Many of you know Diane Payne as the "go to" girl...ask for help and she is the first in line to do so!
Now our friend needs us to line up to help her...
About a year ago, Diane began a very determined journey to "get healthy". She bravely endured a bariatic procedure that resulted in a very successful weight loss...so successful that she eliminated several ongoing medical issues that had been plaguing her for years.
In conjunction with the weight loss journey, she kicked a lifelong smoking habit and discovered the world of daily visits to the gym. She looked great and would say that she hadn't felt that well in years...
Just before the one year anniversay of this amazing transformation, a routine yearly exam identified abnormalities and ultimately the frightening diagnosis of breast cancer. Three weeks later, bilateral mastectomy surgery was performed. Pathology confirmed the Stage 2 presence of the tumor and also indicated that the cancer was far more aggressive than orginally thought and had already spread to the lymph nodes.
Diane will start multiple rounds of intense chemotherapy treatments next week and upon completion of that treatment, will have to undergo many, many weeks of radiation therapy as well. There will be more surgery required upon completion of the treatments.
Sometimes life just doesn't seem fair. Diane does have insurance but the out of pocket costs and other incidentals incurred with this situation are unbelievable. To double the impact, her health insurance rolls over in July and she will have to incur the enormous out of pocket deductible for a second time.
Diane is a hardworking, honest individual and is anxious to get all of this behind her and return to the job she loves. She herself has not asked for anything in the way of help. We are putting together the Go Fund Me effort out of care,concern and love for our long time friend.
We would really appreciate prayers, positive thoughts and any financial help, no matterhow small that you may be able to send her way...it all adds up in the end. While she would never ask for it herself, we know she would be most grateful...
