This by far is the hardest thing that I have ever had to write, it is with great sadness to announce that my father passed away on Monday February 20, 2023. Due to this devastating circumstance, we are needing support financially to cover the cost of funeral services, cremation, and support for our bills due to us not being able to work, for us to care for all that is needed to be done. I will give a brief summary of what happened, but first I want to tell you a little about him. My father was born on April 21, 1960 in La Ferria Texas to Armando and Angelica Garcia and had 5 brothers and 6 sisters. I could write a whole essay to express the type of person my father was, but to narrow it down to a few, he was a hard worker, an excellent provider, loving, big hearted, compassionate, caring, funny, generous, and he had a smile that would light up a room. He married Mary Mejia Garcia on 1/10/1982 and they were married for 40 years and had 4 children. Javier Guiterrez 45, Tommy Guiterrez 43, Robert Garcia Jr 40, and myself April Garcia 38. He had 6 grandchildren Selena 24, Maddison 18, Robert III 13, Sheldon 10, Arya 6, and Eli 5. He also had 1 great grandson Angel 3. He provided for his family as a farmworker for over 35 years. Here is a brief story of what happened. My dad went in for a simple hernia repair on Friday February 18, 2023, and was it was at that time that we were told the devastating news that he had stage 4 pancreatic cancer. We were faced with so many emotions; surprise, shock, disbelief, grief, anger, sadness to name a few. We believed we would have at least a few more months to spend with him; unfortunately, this was not the case because he passed away the next day, Monday the 20th. To say that this has been the most devastating situation is an understatement. We all are trying to cope and manage the best that we can despite this circumstance, but life does not stop. So, please know that your generosity in helping us in any way financially will be truly appreciated and we would be beyond thankful. His memorial service will be on Sunday March 5, 2023, at the Brister Funeral Home 221 N. 3rd St. Immokalee FL, 34142 from 12pm-2pm, and if you would like to send flowers you may send them here as well. We also would love to fulfill one of my dad’s last request for all that are able to come after his service to come to his home so we can gather, associate, and support our family. We know that this would make Robert so happy for all to be united and remembering his happy days with his family. We thank you all, for all of your thoughts, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
