Charlie is a brave, kind, bright and inspirational 18 year old who has already overcome so much and achieved even more in his short life. He is a fantastic role model to the autism community and has proved that nothing is impossible.

On November 6th with his mother Cerys, Janie, girlfriend Judy and family by his side he was given the absolutely devastating news that he has a large malignant brain tumour called an Astrocytic Glioma, he has a brain bleed accompanied by swelling caused by this tumour affecting both sides of his brain.

Following an agonising wait and rollercoaster of emotions, Charlie has now been given a provisional plan which includes a date for brain surgery to remove as much of the tumour as possible on November 27th along with a long road ahead of chemotherapy and / or radiotherapy. A combination of Neuro surgeons, oncologists, specialist nurses and consultants between Cheltenham, Cardiff and Bristol hospitals have so far supported him and will continue do everything that they can medically for Charlie. Long term prognosis is still not known.

Charlie has already given up so much and had to adapt. He has been told that it is not feasible for him to continue with his University studies which he loves and has to relinquish a prestigious scholarship that he also received following Achieving 4 A level grades A*-B and a rigorous application process last summer. He is now unable to drive and next Tuesday he will have his trademark curly locks shaved completely off in preparation for surgery.

He has experienced pain, awful symptoms and worry that no 18 year old should have to endure but with all his loved ones and friends by his side - Charlie is determined to fight this with everything he has.

I am asking for friends, family and our community to get behind Charlie and help to alleviate any financial burden for Cerys, Charlie now requires support 24/7, which means Cerys cannot work. This support may be in the form of paying bills, transport, equipment, potential clinical trials or even treating Charlie when he feels well to take his mind off things. It would be for Cerys to use in any way to support Charlie thought necessary. I have spoken with Charlie about this and even though he is going through this nightmare, his words were 'I don't want my mother worrying about money'. Any unused monies would be donated to The Brain Tumor Charity later down the line.

There are a lot of fundraising ideas in the pipeline and I am hoping this page will become the central place for donations so that Cerys and Charlie can access the funds monthly.

My message is this:
'Charlie, You've got this,
Cerys, you've got Charlie,
and We've got you both'

Please show you support in any way you can x
