Elizabeth is a 12year old 7th grader who loves school, horses, reading and art. On January 7th, Elizabeth went to school, and her biggest worry was doing well on an algebra test. That afternoon, Elizabeth was admitted to Nemours children's Hospital; we faced every parent's nightmare. When we were told, "Elizabeth has leukemia." Labs and tests confirmed she was very, very sick. Enlarge liver, spleen, and high blood counts kept her in PICU (pediatric intensive care unit). Now Elizabeth had so much more to worry about.
After a bone marrow biopsy, Elizabeth was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia.
"Unlucky lucky," Elizabeth said to me. I didn't understand, but every day, she battled. Staying positive is a huge part of fighting cancer. Elizabeth told me that having cancer is unlucky.
But the lucky was her family, friends, k8 school, and you. Yes, you because we need your help!!!
We have exhausted our savings. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
After serval weeks in the Hosptial, Elizabeth is home now. Treatment and tests continue weekly. Hospitalization and biopsies will be a part of her life. All funds will go towards the medical cost and help Elizabeth's quality of life.
