Our new reality.
Welcome everyone.
As most know our story so far.
I am a mother of two beautiful babies 9 months and 4 years old and a loving fiancee to an amazing hard working man.
Sadly with the short comings of me being hospitalized our lives have drastically changed.
I have SLE as most know as lupus. I have been dealing with this condition since I was 17. However this is the first time it has manifested in my blood. We found out that my lupus is causing my body to destroy my platelets. (Itp) my lupus has become refractory to treatment and have a long way to go before I can be back to a normal mom and wife without having to worry about bleeding out from small hits or bumps.
We have tried high dose prednisone, chemo, mmfs, ivig ,platelet transfusions, eltrombopeg and now onto rituximab. But all the treatments thus far have been unsuccessful.
That being said I have been in and out of hospital since October 16th, and now am stuck in hospital and have been for over 3 weeks. And my amazing hubby has had to relieve him self from work to care for the children when I have had appointments or been readmitted into hospital.
We are not the kind to ask for monetary help but we also would like to consider our options at where we should situate our selves next for better support. And for options for my care at home to relieve our family from caring full time for myself and our children. Which recovery could take months with high chances of relapse.
We have been thankful to have family come out and help and have family and friends help with the children however we have fallen short and are need of a bit of help as we continue to navigate a transition back to normal life when I am finally able to get out of the hospital.
Some of the medication I have to be administered can cost upward of 60000$ a year without having the proper coverage on average my medication monthly may be upward of 300$ once released. Plus doctors appointments blood work testing and travel . And trying to make ends meet❤️
We are asking for a little bit of help to cover the costs of the possibility of home health care nurses, medication, travel and extra help with the kids (baby sitting or nanny) and extra costs accrued with Garrett having to take time off work.
I will follow up posting updates as we figure out next steps. I update with as much information to allow you into my life and recovery. We would love nothing but to make ends meet and have all our options available so I can continue to recover
I send many blessings love and thanks to thoes who can help or send their well wishes ♥️
