Danie's Beating Cancer Fund

Our darling Danie, a 26 year old single mother of a 3 year old girl, was diagnosed with Liposarcoma 3 years ago, and after the surgical removal of the tumor, 5 weeks of radiation and the surgical insertion of a metal rod in her thigh, we thought the worst had passed.  Unfortunately, we have recently learned that the cancer has spread into her bones, with tumors in her spine, both arms, pelvis, and possibly in her lymph nodes.  The doctors say that this type of stage 4 bone cancer is very difficult to treat due to its aggressiveness and its rarity, but we are optimistic that with the right doctors, the right treatment and the blessings of God, Danie will heal.

However, in the meantime, the road to healing is going to be a long and expensive one, requiring travel to the specialists, numerous and lengthy chemotherapy and radiation treatments , surgical intervention, and multiple scans to monitor the progression of her cancer.  

Danie’s dream is to one day be a trauma nurse and she was in her final year of nursing school when she received her latest diagnosis.  As a result of the treatments she will be undergoing, Danie had to drop out of school, as well as take a leave of absence from work.   Danie’s mom is herself a single mother, doing her best to support her daughter and granddaughter during this difficult time.
