Blessed to be a Blessing - Giving at Christmas

Statistics say that children with involved, loving fathers are significantly more likely to do well in school, have healthy self-esteem, exhibit empathy and pro-social behavior, and avoid high-risk behaviors such as drug use, truancy, and criminal activity compared to children who have uninvolved fathers. Additionally, children who live absent their biological fathers are, on average, at least two to three times more likely to be poor, to use drugs, to experience educational, health, emotional and behavioral problems, to be victims of child abuse, and to engage in criminal behavior than their peers who live with their married, biological (or adoptive) parents.

The Voice of the Fatherless are working to keep the relationship between father and child as strong as possible, even while being separated during incarceration.  This holiday season we want to focus our attention on families within our community that are in need of assistance.  The Voice of the Fatherless organization reunites children and their incarcerated fathers for the holidays, provides gifts for the children (from their father), and provides food and accommodations for the family.  

If we are able to raise $25,000, this is enough to help at least 100 kids this holiday season.  Anything over and above that amount will go to help other families in the community that need a little extra help this year.
