Magda’s Cancer & Fertility treatment

As some of you may or may not know On Sept 3, 2020 I was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer (Synovial Sarcoma) Stage 2, unfortunately after undergoing what I thought would be a biopsy turned into many complications including my options for treatment. Due to the severity of this I have to undergo a series of treatments such as chemo, surgery and radiation. However, due to the kind of chemo treatment I will be receiving there is a chance I may become infertile, doctors have suggested in seeking treatment with a fertility specialist so that they may retrieve and conserve my eggs. In addition to this unfortunately fertility treatments are not covered by my insurance. This would mean the world to me as it is one of my fears that the possibility of having children may be at risk. I am currently seeking treatment at Columbia University Fertility Treatment Center. However, unfortunately due to covid and becoming unemployed I am unable to fully pay for my fertility treatments.
