Early Saturday morning, Jessie, a single father to his teenage daughter, lost his apartment in a devastating fire. The home was deemed a total loss, and everything they owned was gone. The final reason for the fire is still undetermined but he has had electrical issues since moving in and he’s been there 8 years.
Jessie also lost his service dog, Covu, who meant the world to him and provided daily support. He truly did everything he could to save him, spending his last couple hundreds of dollars in emergency efforts, but he sadly passed due to smoke inhalation. He doesn’t even have the funds to get him cremated
A news article reported that he would receive housing assistance, but that help has not come. Right now, he is honestly left worrying about will sleep each night trying not to be a burden to the very few support people he has.
We are asking for donations to help with immediate needs like temporary housing, even just a hotel for a few nights, and basic necessities as he tries to rebuild his life.
Any amount helps more than words can express. Even if you can’t donate, please share
