In 2021, H and his wife E fled Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover. Their family had supported the U.S. mission, trusting America’s promise to protect those who stood beside it. They arrived in the United States legally, with full documentation, determined to rebuild their lives in safety.

In Virginia, H worked tirelessly, driving for Uber, studying accounting, and eventually securing a job in his field. Together, H and E built a loving home for their two young children, both U.S. citizens, while E pursued her own education and dreams for their future.

Everything changed in July 2025, when H was suddenly detained by ICE despite having valid documents and no criminal record. He has now spent months in detention, with no release in sight. If deported to Afghanistan, he faces grave danger.

E is now raising their two children alone while fighting her own immigration case and struggling to survive without the family’s primary income.

This is more than an immigration case. It is a family torn apart after placing their trust in the United States.
