Remembering John: The Man, The Myth, Now a Legend

Hi, my name is Frankie and I was lucky enough to be John's neighbor! Many of you have known John for much longer than I have and undoubtably loved him because honestly what wasn't there to love!? John was one of the hardest working, most fun-loving, and kindest people I have ever met. Since the first day we moved into our home John was welcoming, sweet, and I’m so thankful he turned out to be a great neighbor and friend. While we are extremely sad he has left this world and we will very much miss our conversations with him we know deep down that he is in a better place. John was fighting the battle of his life against cancer, one that left him weak and in a lot of pain. Throughout the past year he has handled that challenge with such grace and optimism, many times thanking us for our prayers and wishing US a good day as he was headed into yet another round of treatment. He fought as hard as he could, I think mostly for his loved ones because that's the sort of selfless person he was. Today he is dancing with Jesus, pain-free and enjoying eternal health! Knowing John and his deep love for Wendy, I want to make sure that we take care of her. John wants that - I know. I believe that all John needs to rest in peace is to know that there is a community that will rally around Wendy to love her, support her, and make sure she's ok. He was very protective - he would even help watch over my kids from next door whether they were playing near the street or in the pool! I am starting this fundraiser to help Wendy with outstanding health care bills (which are criminal) and funeral costs. Anyone that knows John knows he was a super proud man- he would never ask and so now I am asking on his behalf and I know he wouldn't be mad at me because it's going to help his best friend and life partner! And if you know John and love him like we do, you know what to do! Thank you in advance for your outpouring love, I want to see this surpass the goal! Let's send John off right and repay soo much of the love he showed us because if there was ever someone who deserved it and asked for nothing, it's John.
