Lola’s Fight ❤️

Hi, my names Ciara and i’m doing this on behalf of Lola, one of our dachshunds. I solely chose to do this to help our precious girl, and it has come to the last resort.

Last week, we noticed Lola being off which wasn’t like her at all. And if you have an animal, you know what i mean when i say - “she just wasn’t herself”. Normally, Lola would jump about, run round the garden and play with her daughter, Lily & our boy Charlie (all sausages). But on Friday (7/11/25), our Lola wouldn’t get up. She laid in her bed and would only move for food. She laid on one side only, she was pacing whenever she was up, and she could no longer hold her bladder. We decided to bath her, and she again laid down in the water - which wasn’t like her at all. When we got her out the bath, she’d usually “get the zoomies” and speed round the house, rub herself into carpets and have the time of her life. Instead, she just laid on the bath mat.

At first we believed she may have had a stroke, as she showed all the signs of it. We have later learned it’s a bit more serious than that. She went to the vets late on Friday, and they gave her medication and took many samples and tests.
On Saturday, Lola perked up a bit - we were hopeful that maybe the pain killers were working for her, yet we still had no proper answer.
On Sunday (9/11/25), Lola became severely unwell again. So we decided to take her back to the vets today, Monday 10th November. She’s had more tests and samples done & has been completely drugged up. It it’s believed to be spinal, and we aren’t sure where this will lead her just yet. This could include surgery, medication, physical therapy and much more. So far, since Friday (7/11/25) the costs of medication have already been around £500. Unfortunately, our insurance for Lola does not fully cover the potential costs, and with life in general being in the way, £5000 is a massive amount of money.
Our sweet girl does not bark, whine or make any noise. She is the most peaceful girl ever, and she’s been so strong. She’s only yelped once in this whole process.

We are not the type of people to usually do this, but Lola is only 7, and Lily and Charlie have been crazy without her here just for the few hours she was at the vets. I truly believe animals feel emotions the same way humans do, and i don’t want to have our other two babies aswell as myself and my dad have to watch Lola go through this horrible time.

If you have a dog you understand how much love and care goes into them, and you would go to ends of the earth for them. Anything is a massive help.
