A disease that is so rare, it takes years to diagnose and affects one in five thousand. A small town that is only seven miles from one end to the other. The chances of these two things becoming one part of a story? Slim but it happened and that is where this story begins.
Torey Goodsell touched many lives in that small town and beyond. Her story was known throughout the US because fighters make headlines. She fought for just beyond 19 years. Her fight came to an end on June 16, 2018. Although one knows the outcome of a terminally ill child, nobody can ever really prepare for that. Imagine if you will, expected but completely unexpected.
Her parents Matthew Goodsell and Melissa Goodsell, along with her brother Brandon Goodsell stayed with her until the very end. They became selfless in a time when Torey needed the most comfort. Devastation ensued after her last breath was taken - not only by family but by an entire community.
I ask this community to please come together and help out this deserving family. With a disease so rare, it is hard enough to get medical insurance, nevermind life insurance. Funeral expenses are not something anyone thinks of on a regular basis, most of us are unaware of how much it truly costs until we are faced with losing a loved one.
Please find it in your heart to donate and help out this family. Anything helps, even if it's just a dollar. I am putting this together for my stepmom and my dad. They will not be aware of this until they are reading it just like you are. Although, I am doing this on my own - they will be added as the beneficiary to receive all final donations for unexpected expenses.
From the bottom of my heart, I truly appreciate all of the help and I thank you in advance.
